Plato Pet Treats
Veggies? For dogs?
Dogs are omnivores. They'll eat anything (including things that, to us, shouldn't be edible). The good thing about veggies - as opposed to, say, your favorite pair of slippers—is how they can contribute to your dog's health. Especially the veggies in our new Farmers Market pet treats. First, we slow-roast them with either chicken or salmon (or, in the case of our Sweet Potato Treats, just by themselves). This gives them a flavor dogs can't resist. Then we add a special pro-biotic coating to every treat, which helps keep your dog's gastro-intestinal healthy, for better digestion. Like all our treats, Farmers Market treats are all-natural, made from ingredients grown right here in the good ole US of A, and as fresh as if you'd hand-picked them yourself at the local farmers market. No mystery meats. No meal or meat by-products. No artificial colors, flavors, preservatives or GMO's (short for—shudder—genetically modified organisms). So next time your dog does one of his favorite tricks, reward him with one of ours: New Farmers Market pet treats.
ANTI - oxidants. Pro-biotics. Is this food, or a debating society?
Pro-biotic means "for life." Those "live cultures" yogurts talk about? Those are pro-biotics – living microscopic organisms. Eat the yogurt, and the pro-biotics take up residence in your gastro-intestinal tract (that is, your digestive system). There, they aid digestion, which helps you stay healthier. The pro-biotics in Famers Market pet treats work the same way. Fear not: This is not Invasion of the Body Snatchers for your dog. Pro-biotics are a very good thing, supported by scientific studies and the World Health Organization. In point of fact, all living creatures have organisms living in their bodies. Pro-biotics are the good guys, and your dog will be healthier for them, every time you reward him with Farmers Market treats.
You say "Wild Salmon Oil." Does that mean it likes to party?
Plato Wild Salmon Oil comes exclusively from salmon caught in the wilds of Alaska, in waters so pure and unsullied, they're among the purest in the world. Who are we, then, to add chemical preservatives, synthetic flavors or artificial colors? So we don't. Plato Wild Salmon Oil is a pure, natural product, and a rich source of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. In a world where pet foods and supplements read too often like a chemistry textbook, we suppose that's pretty wild.
Where are Plato Pet Treats made?
Plato Treats are produced right here in the United States, in central Indiana, in our own facility. This allows us to tightly control our own production processes. That way, we can ensure that our treats are always made to our stringent quality standards.
Where do you get your ingredients for Plato Pet Treats?
With the exception of some of our natural preservatives (which we import from Europe) and our ginkgo biloba, all ingredients used in Plato treats are from North America.
Are Plato Pet Treats quality-assurance tested?
Most assuredly. We have a full quality assurance laboratory where we test our treats daily to make sure that they meet our strict quality standards. This means every bag of Plato treats meets our high levels of quality—and always tastes great.
Where does your Pacific salmon come from?
The Pacific Northwest, naturally. For our Original Salmon treats, we use a blend of wild and farm-raised salmon, from the waters of Seattle and British Columbia. Rest assured that we extensively test all of it to ensure that it meets our exact standards.
Why Plato? Are you philosophers, or something?
We definitely have a philosophy: The highest quality ingredients for the best tasting pet treats we can make. But we'll leave the togas to the ancient Greeks (and the occasional frat party): Plato was smart, and these are smart treats for smart dogs, so we named our treats after him. But being a pretty clever doggie yourself, you already knew that, didn't you?
